SEASONED LAMPASCIONI

SEASONED LAMPASCIONI

Native to North America, but also growing wild in southern regions, lampascioni are a vegetable known almost exclusively in the South.

The bulb of the plant, the only edible part, resembles a small onion with a contrasting sweet-bitter flavor. The delicate harmony of these contrasting notes is the aftertaste that lingers in the mouth after savoring these unusual wild onions.

Rich in potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, and fiber, their bulb has been used for centuries for both food and medicinal purposes. Some species of these vegetables are grown purely for ornamental purposes thanks to the beauty of their flowers.
